Hello, and welcome to my website. My name is Greg Ngim and I am currently a third-year student at UC Santa Barbara. I am a Financial Mathematics and Statistics major and I am pursing an internship in Baseball this summer.
I have a passion for the game of baseball. I was born and raised in the Bay Area and was developed into a die-hard A's fan by my loving parents. My parents started taking me to A's games even before I was born. Growing up an only child, I needed something to keep me entertained. When I was a kid, I would watch VCR tapes of the A's 2000 and 2001 seasons and memorize the dialogue verbatim. I would boisterously recite all of those great calls from Bill King to my mom and it would drive her nuts.
I played baseball for 14 years, starting from the age of 4. I played all around the diamond in Little League, but mainly stuck to the outfield in High School. I hung up my cleats after Senior Year and decided to try something new in college - Table Tennis. After a year of participating in IM Table Tennis, I became the Head Intramural Table Tennis Coordinator here at UCSB. I enjoy my job very much.
My goal is to work in the Baseball Operations Department of a Major League Baseball team someday. I read a good amount of articles on Fangraphs.com, and enjoy analyzing data from Baseball Savant. I am in the process of learning how to use R and SQL to better analyze Baseball Data. I try to post relevant and unique information on the Oakland A's to this site. This site is also just a way to express my knowledge and thoughts on A's games. I hope that you'll learn something new or interesting from reading my articles.
Thank you for your visit to my site. As always, GO A's!!
