My 5 Key elements to a successful season include:
1. Health of Sonny Gray & bounceback season
2. A's being in the top 2/3 teams defensively
3. Continued development of Graveman, Manaea and Cotton
4. On base percentage increase 5. Call ups of Franklin Barreto, Max Schrock and possibly Matt Chapman
I will follow the season as closely as I can. I plan on posting weekly articles which will include game recaps, my analysis, and short-term predictions about the club. This week, the Athletics will play 4 games at home against the Angels, and 3 games away against the Rangers.
The A's have not done well recently on opening nights. They are 1-11 over their last 12 opening nights at home. Fortunately, the A's won't have to face King Felix tomorrow. Regardless of how opening night goes, baseball is back and life is good. Let's go Oakland! Best of luck to the 2017 Oakland Athletics.
